The Rolex Oyster case of the Oyster Perpetual (36 mm) is guaranteed water resistant to 100 meters. Its characteristically shaped caseband is cut from a solid block of 904L steel (specific to Rolex) that is particularly resistant to corrosion and adapts perfectly to most wrists. The fluted caseback is hermetically screwed down using a special tool specific to the brand's watchmakers. The winding crown, equipped with the patented Twinlock double waterproofness system, is screwed securely onto the case. As for the crystal, it is made of practically scratch-resistant sapphire and features the famous crown discreetly engraved at 6 o'clock (a way of ensuring that it is not a counterfeit).

This Oyster Perpetual is equipped with caliber 3130, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex (hours, minutes and seconds). Like all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 3130 is COSC-certified (48-hour power reserve). The oscillator, the true heart of the watch, comprises a blue Parachrom hairspring patented and produced by Rolex in an exclusive alloy of niobium and zirconium. Perfectly insensitive to magnetic fields (practical for passing through security gates at airports, for example), this hairspring is highly stable in the face of temperature variations and remains up to ten times more precise than a traditional hairspring in the event of shocks.
